The Texas Fire Chiefs Association’s mission is to serve the citizens of Texas by actively participating in the advancement of the fire service through positive leadership, sharing of information and active legislative involvement while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards. It is more important than ever to support the TFCA as we work through the Legislative Sessions.

The TFCA represents your interests in a myriad of ways including, but not limited to, active participation in GETAC, the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, the Texas Municipal League, LODD Committees and Investigative Teams, the Texas A&M Municipal Fire School, TIFMAS, and scores of others. We are active participants in the Texas Legislative Sessions and we monitor legislation that affects the diverse body of the Texas Fire Service. The TFCA also represents the interests of the Texas Fire Service to our members in Washington

The Texas Fire Chiefs Association has various activities for its members. As you know, we hold two annual Fire Chiefs Academies as well as a “fire chiefs only” workshop annually. Watch for the program called, the “Company Officer Symposium” which will bring together outstanding Company Officers and reinvigorate your Company Officer staff. Finally, we are launching a Volunteer/Combination Department Academy this year and we continue to learn from each other through the Best Practices Recognition Program. We will wrap up the year by having a LODD Conference where we take a serious look at the challenges of changing the culture in the Fire Service. No small task.

New Membership Option!
TFCA has now added a Group Membership option to help your Fire Department save money. There are 4 levels to select from based on how many sworn personnel your Fire Department employs. If your fire department does not want to participate in this group option, please proceed at the bottom of this page with the Join Today button and select your individual membership type based on your role within your department.

If your fire department would like to participate in the group rate option, please complete the group member form and send it to [email protected]. Once received, we will process it and send the main contact an invoice.

Annual Membership Types and Fees FY25

Membership in the association becomes effective with a completed membership application form and receipt of the specified dues, and runs annually from January, 1 to December, 31.

      • Level 1 - $500
        • 1 – 50 Sworn Personnel
          • Membership Includes: Chief, Admin, Command Staff
      • Level 2 - $1,000
        • 51 – 100 Sworn Personnel
          • Membership Includes: Chief, Admin, Command Staff
      • Level 3 - $1,500
        • 101 – 200 Sworn Personnel
          • Membership Includes: Chief, Admin, Command Staff
      • Level 4 - $2,000
        • 200+ Sworn Personnel
          • Membership Includes: Chief, Admin, Command Staff
  • Individual Membership Levels:
    • Fire Chief (Head of Department) - $300
    • Associate Member (Second in Command, Assistant Chief, Division Chief, Battalion Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, etc.) - $100
    • Retired Fire Chief - $10
    • Corporate - $250
    • Volunteer Fire Chief or Volunteer Associate Member - $100
    • Admin Professionals - $100
